Here's some information that I want to share because it's a genuine game-changer for so many of our neighbors. It’s all about enabling Sussex County residents to age happily, safely, and comfortably in their own homes.
It’s a brilliant "neighbors helping neighbors" service called Village Volunteers (for northern and western Sussex County) and South Coastal Village Volunteers (for those near the southern end).
At its heart, the concept is simple. When you join as a member, you get access to a network of vetted, local volunteers ready to help with all kinds of daily activities that can become challenging. And for those of us looking for a way to give back? It’s genuinely one of the most direct and rewarding ways to support our senior neighbors.
Here’s a look at what members can get help with.
🚗 Transportation
Village Volunteers can take you:
-
To medical or dental appointments
-
To appointments with veterinarians (you'll accompany your pet)
-
Grocery shopping—or they can do your grocery shopping for you
-

-
On other crucial errands, like trips to Home Depot for your garden, or to places that are important to you, like the library, church, or synagogue.

Help you figure out other electronic gadgets
